NEWS FOR FAMILIES - FEBRUARY

February Information for Parents of Preschoolers and Children

Parent’s Night Out
On Friday, February 10, enjoy an early Valentine’s evening out while we keep your child(ren). Parent’s Night Out will be held from 6-8:30pm in the preschool area of the church. Please enter through the Pickett Avenue entrance and plan to have emergency information available. Babies and young toddlers should come with instructions for feeding, sleeping, and other information personal to your child. All other children should come with a bag dinner and drink. Please make sure you sign-up your child on the form in the hallway behind the sanctuary by Sunday, March 5th, so that adequate coverage will be available. If you have any questions, please contact Bonnie Sohn.

SBC Family Variety Show: A Fundraiser for Summer Camp
On March 3, at 7pm, please plan to be a part of our SBC Family Variety Show! The Youth and Children’s Family Ministries are sponsoring this event to help raise funds for summer camp. It will be an entertaining night filled with talent provided by our own church family, and will be a great opportunity to show our youth and children our love and support for them. Whether you are participating in the program or coming to enjoy the show, mark your calendars today for this meaningful event! All participants will need to turn in a registration form to the office by Sunday, February 5th. More details and registration forms can be found in the front foyer or in the hallway behind the sanctuary. We’re looking forward to a wonderful night of entertainment!

Reminders for Parents of Preschoolers
Here are a few reminders that will help us provide a safe environment for your children as you study and worship:
1) Please make sure that your child has an identification wristband with his/her
name on it before leaving your child in any preschool classroom. We realize
that your child may be known by some workers, however, this is an important
part of our risk management program as well as part of our preschool policy.
Thanks for making sure you take care of this before leaving your child.
2) Please remember to review our Preschool Sick Policy posted on the bulletin
board above the basket of wristbands. The “sick season” has arrived, and it’s
very important that we follow the procedures outlined in our Preschool Policy.
Research reveals that preschoolers have trouble learning how to share. However, when it comes to “germs,” preschoolers are very eager and able to
share with others!! Let’s keep this in mind when making decisions concerning whether your child should or should not be with other children when they are not feeling well.

Find strength in God’s love, and share it with others! Happy February! Bonnie Sohn
