Music is a vital part of our worship experience at Sandston Baptist Church. Participation is open to everyone, and we welcome new voices in each group.
Children age 3 through kindergarten sing in the SonShine Choir. This choir meets during Extended Session during the 10:30 service twice a month. Experiencing the joy of making music helps preschool children understand Jesus’ love at a young age.
Kids Call, grades 1 through 5, sing contemporary Christian tunes with a focus on “kid appeal”. This group meets every Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 7:45 pm.
The Sanctuary Choir is our adult choir. This group meets each Wednesday night from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. In addition to providing weekly music in the morning worship service, this choir prepares and presents special programs at Christmas and Easter.
The Jubilee Ringers is our adult handbell choir. They provide jubilant worship by ringing arrangements of many of our favorite hymns during a number of our worship services.
Clear Call is a contemporary praise band that leads in the early worship service and other ministries including gospel music nights and musical opportunities in the community. Clear Call’s mission is to provide uplifting praise & worship music in a contemporary style. “If the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?” 1 Corinthians 14:8 challenges us that we all need to hear the Clear Call of our Lord.
Special Music is featured weekly in the morning worship service, in addition to the music provided by the Sanctuary Choir. A variety of individuals and groups, both instrumental and vocal, from within our own congregation participate in sharing music from the heart to enhance the worship hour.
Sound Technicians staff our sound system and support the music ministries of our church. We’re always willing to train folks to share in this important role in our worship services.
