Bible Study Classes
(meet every Sunday morning from 9:30am to 10:15am)

Building relationships … with God and with each other through Bible study.

Preschool Classes (newborn to kindergarten-age children)
• Welcoming and nurturing preschoolers by introducing them to God though everyday life in a safe and loving environment. Please note, childcare is provided for this age group during both services. An usher or church member would be happy to show you the way if you are unsure where the classrooms are located.

Elementary Age Children's Classes
• Kidz Connect - A safe place where we help your children (grades 1-5) connect with God. We meet together for a short opening time, then the children are divided into their respective classes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. We look into God's Word to learn how to follow Him, using age-appropriate activities.

Youth Classes
• Bible study for students in middle school and high school, grades 6th - 12th. The Department of Youth and Families will strive to…
...provide a safe haven from the world for youth in the Sandston area to find spiritual refreshment through times of worship, Bible study, and fellowship.
...help students at Sandston Baptist Church build a solid foundation of Biblical principles to apply to their lives and carry with them after high school. This includes understanding and living out the theme verse for SBC Youth - Romans 12:1-2.
...emphasize a lifestyle of servant-leadership and missions including outreach in the local community, and domestic and foreign missions.
...be a resource to parents of youth about youth culture, equipping them to continue ministering to their students at home.
...teach the students the importance of corporate worship and encourage them to become a part of SBC as a whole.
...emphasize Baptist heritage and policy so that students can begin to understand and form their own denominational identity.

With that in mind, and following the Bible as our study guide, we take an in-depth look at scripture verse by verse, examining the context and the intended purpose of the writer. Following a lecture format, encouraging questions and discussion, we look at historical and social background as well as the issues that the writer is addressing. In some cases we examine the original Greek and Hebrew word meanings to help clarify meaning of the overall passage. Having explored the scripture, we remember what Paul told Timothy while encouraging him in his ministry, “Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all of this.” 2 Timothy 2:7
