BENEFIT CONCERT - A concert benefiting Eastern Henrico FISH will be hosted by SBC on Sunday, October 3rd at 6:30 pm. The evening will feature performances by Richmond funnyman Garet Chester, ChurchYard Grass and our Praise Team. Come enjoy our local talent and support this worthwhile organization dedicated to helping our neighbors.
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY – Bonnie Abernathy is going to lead the women’s study “Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted” by Priscilla Shirer. This study shows that interruption is actually God’s invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams as when Jonah allowed God to interrupt his life. Bonnie anticipates that the study will begin the middle of October on Sunday afternoons. If you would be interested in attending this study, please put your name on the sign up sheets in the hallway behind the sanctuary.
COOKBOOK NEWS – Please make sure you pick up the information about Sandston's upcoming cookbook on the tables located in the foyer and hallway behind the sanctuary. Recipes may be submitted on-line or on paper. On-line directions can be found at the information tables. All paper submissions may be put in the Sandston Recipe Drop Pot located by the office door. Remember, all recipes are due by Oct. 3rd. Be thinking about a good name for our cookbook....all ideas may be submitted to Kristen or Bonnie.
ATTENTION PARENTS – Regular Wednesday night activities for preschool, children and youth will begin on September 15. For a complete list for preschool and school-aged children, look in your September newsletter. Or pick up a flyer on the visitors’ table in the back hallway.
UPCOMING KICK-OFF EVENT – On Sunday afternoon, September 19, we will have a kick-off lunch for Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry. We need you to sign up ASAP. You might wonder why have a lunch? All of the proceeds from the lunch will go to “The Fund”. What fund, you ask? Come and find out! There are sign up sheets in the hallway behind the sanctuary.
ATTENTION WOMEN – If you are interested in attending the Women’s Get-Away at Eagle Eyrie on November 5 and 6, you need to sign up TODAY. We would like to have a group from Sandston Baptist to attend but we need to make our reservations very soon as there are only a limited number of spaces left for this conference. Please put your name on the sign up sheet in the hallway behind the sanctuary.
RBA CALLED MEETING: Thursday, September 9, the Richmond Baptist Association (RBA) will hold a special called associational meeting at Patterson Avenue Baptist Church starting 7 pm to act on the nomination of the Reverend J. Michael Robinson for the position of Director of Missions of the RBA. We may send up to six messengers to this important meeting. Please let the church office know if you'd like to be a messenger.
