ACTEEN NEWS
ACTEEN MEETING IN THE BRANCHES SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSROOM ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26 AT 10:30 AM
ACT NOW
God doesn¡¦t want you to become older or more spiritually mature before you start serving. There are no pre-requisites for you to meet before you start serving. Instead Jesus calls us to act now and show others God¡¦s love.
The angel revealed that Joseph was to wed Mary, and she was carrying a baby that would be called Immanuel, which means God with us. This title is rarely found in the Bible, but it does; and refers to the promise of Jesus Christ¡¦s birth. But it means so much more than that. Jesus instructed us to ultimately remember, ¡§I am with you always.¡¨ Not only did Jesus come to live out a lifetime on earth with us and like us, but He also came to be with us forever. His presence has never left us.
Knowing that Jesus is constantly with us should calm all our fears, empower, and inspire us, like it did the disciples. Ephesians 6:10-18 helps us understand how Jesus has equipped us so that we may always remember He is with us. We stand wearing a belt of truth; a breastplate of righteousness; shoes of ¡§readiness that comes from the gospel of peace¡¨; a shield of faith; a helmet of salvation; and yielding ¡§the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.¡¨ The saying ¡§knowledge is power¡¨ truly captures the purpose of wearing God¡¦s armor. Our knowledge that Jesus is with us can empower us to stand against evil, wickedness, darkness, and corruption.
